CTD #470

For this Color throwdown challenge I have stamped and then watercolored these fall images in tones of brown, yellow, orange and red on white cardstock, which I then placed on top of a Lawn Fawn plaid background.  Love the leaves and the acorn images!

I was trying to figure out what to do for this color challenge (pink, yellow, gray) & cleaning up my craft room.  When I saw the (previously untouched) MFT Sketchy Flowers kit, I was inspired!  Thanks to the Color Throw Down for taking me out of my comfort zone!!  I think this is all MFT products, including the inks & paper.  #ctd457 #mftstamps

18 cards from the Love from Lizi July kit!

One of the things I LOVE about the LFL kits (#lovefromlizi, lovefromlizi.com) is how much coordinated material is included!  Each kit has enough cardstock to make 10 card bases, but I usually supplement with some of my 8.5x11 paper.  This month I got the add-ons (cardstock cut-out stickers) which really increased the possibilities.

This was my first set. I went for the big "rose window" print right away, and the delicate flower print on the gray panel too.  Love the surprising color combinations!

My favorites here are the ones on the left.  On the lower right, I tried stamping with the Distress Oxide ink but it wasn't as visible as I hoped.........tried to fix it up with a white gel pen shadow.

I had so much fun making these cards and challenging myself to come up with 18 different designs!  Thank you, Lizi of #lovefromlizi!

Yet one more from the LFL (#lovefromlizi, lovefromlizi.com) July card kit!  I used the cute flower stamps to stamp in Versamark on an MFT grout gray panel, then embossed in clear embossing powder.  The tiny black gems, sentiment sticker and black-and-white paper baker's twine are all from the LFL kit.  Tone-on-tone background is one of my "go-to designs" when I'm trying to come up with ten cards from one kit!

Lately I've had a lot of graduation cards to make & send!  Today's card is from Sunny Studio Stamps' "Woo Hoo" graduation set!  I love the tone ontone look of the background, and "Woo Hoo" is one of my favorite cheers, so it's a natural for me!  A little glossy accents on the glasses makes them look so cute, too.  I've done a few of these adding eyelashes for the gals.  #sunnystudiostamps

Another card from the Love from Lizi July kit (lovefromlizi.com, #lovefromlizi).  All items from the kit, with the chipboard sticker which was an add-on to the kit.  If you haven't tried her kits, she puts together amazing paper and embellishment combinations!  I would never have tried this color combo on my own but I just love it.  Thanks, Lizi!

Love From Lizi July kit

Finally got the time to spend a nice day in my craft room, and devoted the time to catching up on my July Love from Lizi kit!  I just loved the papers in this kit - this is clearly a super simple card but the papers just do it for me.  I made 18 cards out of just one kit plus a couple of add-on items, and have tons of materials left over!  #lovefromlizi

Color Throwdown Challenge #450

Wow, it's been too crazy lately!  Trying to get back on the crafting wagon, which is my happy time!

For this week's Color Throwdown Challenge (#ctd450 #colorthrowdown), I used the Love from Lizi June kit (#lovefromlizi) to create a plain & simple shaker card.  Everything here came in the kit!  I cut the vellum star down to a circle as the focal point.  Love her kits - she's in the UK but ships quite reasonably to the US.

Thanks for looking!  Lisa

Color Throwdown Challenge 4-3-2017

For this week's Color Throwdown Challenge (pale yellow, green & blue), I used a Mama Elephant stamp, Botanic Hello, and watercolored with the Gansai Tambi set, using silver (a neutral?) for the letters.  Then I die cut the frame & inset and used Stampin' Up dimensional strips to pop up the frame.  Finished off with Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins.  Wish my watercoloring skills were better, but I'm practicing!  I finally got smart - put together a portable bag and take it with me when I'm going to be waiting for my daughter for an hour or more.  ;-)

Also adding to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week, which is "Anything Goes!"

I just love this Hero Arts Color Layering stamp!  Had some challenges fitting it all together but because the stamp was so "artsy" looking I felt that I could get away with some imperfections (like the legs not being attached to the body, LOL!).  Used the HA mini ink pads that came in the bundle, and MFT patterned paper.

Another one from the "Love from Lizi" February kit!  The lovely bird & rose papers make "clean & simple" appropriate - I have added some of the pink patterned paper, silver peel-offs (LOVE her peel-offs!), and a vellum flag with a stamp from the kit, "Enjoy," stamped in the kit's purple ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder.

Having been a teenager during the years when the "Preppy Handbook" was popular, I have never *quite* gotten over my love of pink & green combinations!  Here's another Altenew set & another one layer, clean & simple card using Altenew's "Lacy Scrolls."  The stamping is imprecise but I just went with it because I love the look.

Like many people, I find it challenging to create sympathy cards, but apart from birthday or encouragement cards, they are one of the most needed sentiments.  These Altenew layering stamps (here, Beautiful Day) and the Altenew coordinated ink pads make it so easy!  Simple, yet lovely.

Created this Coffee-themed card from the Simon Says Stamp February 2017 kit, using the kraft paper from the kit, the stamps, and colored pencils. Sometimes I struggle with making the placement of stamps on a stamped background look "natural," but this one worked out!  #simonsaysstamp

This is my first time entering the Color Throwdown challenge!  This "clean and simple" card is made with papers & wood embellishment from the Love from Lizi (www.lovefromlizi.com) February card kit, as well as the hello die from MFT (www.mftstamps.com) and some dark green cardstock from my stash. Color challenge was mint, green, plum & light brown.
