More from Simon Says Stamp's September 2017 kit, "Best Birthday!"  Loved this heart stamp and had fun watercoloring it in rainbow colors!  Something about a rainbow makes me smile.  :-)

Loving the February MFT release set, Canine Companions!  Shown here with MFT patterned paper and the "gift box" die.  How cute is this?  Hope this will cheer up someone's day!

Sadly, I had sympathy cards to make for two of my friends who recently lost their beloved pets.  I was really wracking my brain for ideas, when I saw this week's color throwdown challenge by one of my favorite artists & you-tubers, Amy Rysavy of Prairie Paper and Ink.  The challenge was light purple, dark purple, brown, and beige/ off-white.  If you count the Kraft as brown, I think at least the first card works?  Anyway, these cards are made mostly with MFT products from the February release (just arrived!), except for the Gina K designs solid paper.

Thanks for the great stamp designs, MFT!  #mftstamps #ginakdesigns #ctd481 #colorthrowdown

Sometimes I hoard a kit for a while, either because I'm busy and the time passes, or because I'm not immediately inspired and I have to wait for that inspiration to come!  In January I had fun going through this early 2017 Hero Arts kit.  Had fun with the lovely included mini ink pads, and the turquoise is one of my favorite colors.  This sentiment works for Valentine's Day or many other occasions as well.

Happy Valentine's Day!  I had so much fun making valentines this year.  This one uses a Simon Says Stamp die on the packaging material from the Hero Arts kit of early 2017.  I used a Delicata pink ink cube direct to paper for the background - I love the shimmer!  The heart has dimension, texture, color & gloss - love that!

Hope you have a Happy Day!  <3

Color Throwdown #479!  Just mailed my Valentines but here's one of the ones I really had fun with.  I'm not good on fiddly things but I just had to do some inlay die cutting with this awesome cover plate die.  CTD this week was red, pink & grey.  Love this color combo!

7pm last night, after spending 10 hours at a swim meet (two girls = two sessions!), my daughter PLEADS for me to make the critter valentines instead of getting store-bought.  Well, thanks to Lawn Fawn, we have 24 Woodland Critter Huggers ready to go!  I just loved this die set.  I'm not big on tiny dies but even I managed to make this one work.  So cute and fun to make!

Well, I don't know why I can't take a straight picture of a rectangle card, but I assure you, this is a standard A2 shape!  Was having lots of fun playing with my new The Ton Stamps haul, and thought I'd play with the Peony Notes Bundle - and it just so happened there was a funky Color Throwdown Challenge (#478 - hot pink, lime green, yellow & light blue) so I thought, why not?  I used Catherine Pooler inks and all went well this time except I stamped the little leaves just a little offset - but I decided to go with it anyway.  Love how it turned out and will show soon the other color combinations, which were spectacular!  The "Love" die cut is MFT Stamps, I think, and the bling is also from The Ton.

So glad to finish the challenge on time!  #ctd478 #thetonstamps #colorthrowdown

Sure enough, a month has gone by and I'm way behind in posting to the blog!  That's okay, I've been a busy card-maker in the meantime.  I have a lot of kits to catch up on, so I am trying to keep to the "10 cards one kit" structure, completing several kits per week.  As of now I have finished nine kits so far this year!  Not every card is unique, but most are - and best of all, maybe I'll catch up on supplies and be ahead on birthday cards for a change?  I can dream, right?

This was from the Hero Arts December kit.  I grabbed the stencil & my texture & glimmer pastes, and made a bunch of backgrounds - a great way to unleash some creativity when stuck.  I loved the look of the kit but couldn't figure out where to get started until I started with the backgrounds!  The genie is copic colored and popped up with dimensionals.

Happy New Year!

New Year, New Resolutions!   Let's see if I can do a better job of posting this year!

After a long week of the flu & slow recovery, I had some nice time on New Year's Day to craft.....finally dug into an old Hero Arts monthly kit, I think from December 2016?  CASE'd this layout generally from the HA blog, and just love all those green bottles cascading down, colored with copics.

Happy New Year to all!  Looking forward to a year of crazy offset by many moments of crafting peace!  :-)  Lisa
